Permission Policy for Use of Photos on PacificUnionPhoto.com

Unauthorized use of the photos on this Web site is unlawful and may result in legal action. A person or persons shown in a photo owns the right to have his or her photo published (except for news purposes), and the photographer owns the right to make copies of his or her photograph.

Authorized Use

• News -- Photos on this site may be used to illustrate relevant news stories. This includes public news media and church newsletters, bulletin boards and Web sites. By placing their photos on this site, the photographers grant permission for their photos to be used for news purposes without remuneration or further permission. Where possible, credit should be given to the photographer.
• Personal Use -- Identifiable individuals shown in photos may make copies of photos of themselves, they may put such photos on their personal Web sites, email them to friends, make printed copies to give to family and friends, and display such photos of themselves wherever they choose.

Unauthorized Use

• Commercial Use -- It is unlawful to use anyone's photo for commercial purposes without the permission of the person shown and permission of the photographer. If the photo is not used to illustrate news, the person is usually being used a model. It is illegal to use a photo from this site on a brochure even if the brochure is distributed free and is printed to promote a free seminar--unless you secure the permission of the person shown and the photographer. And, of course, no picture from this site may be used in any advertisement without the permission of the model and the photographer.
• False Light -- It is also unlawful to use any photo from this site to depict a person in a false light. For example, if a photo from this site shows a person attending a church convention in St. Louis, it is unlawful to use that photo to illustrate a story of people attending a different function.
